Fleet "Uncommonly Big Stick Diplomacy"

This fleet was designed to be pretty simply, and I think it is the fleet I would personally try and run irl for a challenge like this. In the uncommon rarity, America gets access to schooners, which are some of her best ships. So I chose the Intrepid as a lethal, lethal fighter. All she needs is a captain to be a force of destruction, and while a helmsman would have been even more terrifying, S+S+Schooner turn is plenty fast enough to get a couple 1- and 2- rank canons in range.

America's Canoes are some of the best in the game, and can run gold pretty well by themselves. Their ability lets them chain gold, which can help loading and unloading gold more quickly. (Between two turns of move actions canoes can take a full load of gold from another.) The other plus of Canoes is that they have no crew aboard, and no masts to lose, so UTs that eliminate either of those can be thrown in the treasure pool pretty much consequence free, in case they target your opponent.

The Maryland was chosen to keep this fleet American, but help out the Intrepid. She's is a solidly priced support fighter, and that it what is needed. Given the Chieftain onboard the Intrepid, she wasn't designed to be hyper aggressive. She's solid in a fight, and the odds should favor her, but the Maryland is to stay close to make sure taking either of them on becomes a suicide mission. Both ships can try to pressure the opponent's gold runners, or at least keep their fighter busy. Double Shot was included as a hail mary in case the initial rolls go poorly, and because I had the spare point.

I'd like to emphasize that while I realize this fleet's title is an attempt at a historical reference while representing the more fighter heavy nature of my fleet. Just for people who don't know the phrase "Big Stick Diplomacy"

Very serious gunships! however i do worry about their ability to catch enemy ships, especially without actions. I love your gold solution, the American canoes have the most cargo and are the fastest. With five of them running around even a gunship with Extras would be hard pressed to catch up to all of them.
