Fleet "Corsair run and board" - 40 Points (standard format) show extended format
created by gaymboi

Let's face it, very few people (if any) will play a pure Corsair fleet in a highly competitive game. No forts, no 5 masters, no 0LR crew, they are playing against a stacked deck. However, since the only prizes are for participation (as of this writing), you can play 'em for fun.

Aruj has to be included in the build. With all their shortcomings, if you're gonna play Corsairs you want crew you just can't get anywhere. Aruj goes on Nubian Prince. The Prince's special ability might even save you from getting shot a few times. Of course, playing all Corsair means you can't pin the enemy, but you can't have everything. An oarsman is on board in case you lose a boarding action (just 'cause you have Aruj doesn't mean you will win automatically).

Queen of Sheba and Griffen are your runners, they have 9 cargo slots available, minus 2 slots for 2 explorers. Both move at least S+S.

Something like Lady's Scorn will shoot this fleet to ribbons, but if you're facing Black Swan...

I kinda like it. Nobody else in our gaming group played pure Corsairs but I did for quite a while -- not very competitive but certainly fun. Our gaming group has been discussing how to make the Corsairs competitive and we've decided that Aruj was the way to go...We've also seen the Nubian Prince in enough games that it's quite pesky -- and with a boarding strategy would be downright mean. Perhaps that peskiness could buy the Queen and Grif enough time to get out and back? And who knows, maybe a prisoner or two would come home as well...
