I was thinking: Which nation would be best to look through and find some great common ships? I thought that a minor nation would be a good choice, as their ships are normally common (apart from the biggest) in their one set. So of course, I picked Corsairs. |

I like it a lot, puma, the speed will baffle opponents while the world-hater and good ability on the Tiger's Eye lets you have a more than respectable gunship (at least for common fleets).

Excellent fleet, and bonus points for using the Corsairs.
Tiger's Eye has enough speed that it should be able to get the jump on most other gunships, and both of those runners are setup almost perfectly (Griffin would be even better with an explorer, but it should be able to manage even without one. Cancellers and double-action ships will pose the biggest threat to you, because you really don't have a good way to deal with them - you just have to hope that the L-immunity protects you long enough to fight back. One big downside to using the Corsairs is that you're missing out on any chance of ramming damage, which will be much greater factor in a game where no ship has more than three masts. Overall, I'll give this a 4.6, with points lost because of the inability to do ramming damage and the very real threat to Tiger's Eye from cancelers (which have already appeared in at least two of the other challenge fleets), but don't let that deter you. Keep those two runners safe for a couple turns and this fleet still has a very good chance at winning. |

Woelf stole all my comments =) I too looked at the Corsairs, but I couldn't let go of the galley keyword and no ramming, which I feel would be a big part here. That, and I disfavor the only one gunship approach to a standard game (esp without double actions) - yes your gold runners are fast, but with only one ship protecting them they won't last long against a fleet with two gunships. I do like the firepot though - wish I would have included one.
I will go with a 4.2. =) |

Thanks, everybody.
Yeah, I wish I could have a canceller but nope, not today. As for the double action, Jack Hawkins wasn't worth the points to me. Hopefully, I can get off a Firepot at least, with a fair chance of taking down the enemy ship. As for the no ramming, ah well. I love the Corsairs and couldn't resist using them. |

I just used the C search filter, and the Firepot came up. If there is a problem, someone should lemme know and I'll try to fix it.

I like how you used the corsairs. Groovy to the max!
But it stands absolutely NO chance against my "Ultimate Killers Fleet" |

Great Job! I love the corsairs. I think they have some of the best common ships out there, even though some of their 3 masters stink. The only thing I am worried about is that you can't do any ramming damage. With 3 masts being the biggest you will be a disavantege. Plus you are ceceptable to cancellers.

Very funny! Any fleet with gold runners could run circles around your cursed fleet. |

This is all true. Unfortunately, lack of good double actions and being susceptible to cancellers are occupational hazards of the Corsair admiral. However they are my favorite faction (except of course America |
