General description:
A white streak of pain and death, the Spirit Cat's "Cave Lion" is something to be feared on any battlefield. Of course, there are drawbacks to having a shredder on the field, but if you want raw damage, the Cave Lion is great choice.
Uses:
Bounce from target to target, tearing into anything that gets in your way and taking potshots and any targets of opportunity. Cover is your friend.
Strategies and game play:
If you can protect the Cave Lion until it can engage, it will be a major power in any battle. A rapid strike for 6 total melee, or a 6 total damage pulse attack at 12 inches, this is pain.
The catch is its just so damned soft. 20 def isn't bad, but on the fourth click it loses both rapid strike and pulse. Even with a few dents, it's still a great mech, but not outstanding. Add to this the measly 14 clicks of health, and we have a problem.
Combos with other miniatures:
Personally, I like cannon fodder. One or two easy kill, low cost chumps to draw the opponents attention from the Cave Lion, which closes on the more powerful enemies and disassembles them before anyone knows whats happened.
Ways to counteract it:
A few big hits and this kitty is down for the count. The low health and lack of defensive abilities is a weakness any good opponent won't ignore.
Strengths/Pros:
The combination of both rapid strike and pulse make this mech deadly. A few good rolls gets you 12 damage, thats right, 12.
Weaknesses/Cons:
A total lack of defensive abilities holds the Cave Lion back, and the 14 clicks of life make it a challanging unit to use effectively, especially after it loses both offensive abilities after 4 short clicks of damage. It isn't cheap either.
Artwork and aesthetics:
The Cave Lion is an impressive figure, easily one of my favorites. The paint job suits the the Spirit Cats very well, and the overall effect of a battleworn, yet clean unit is great. The overall effect is quite intimidating, pull this figure from a pack and you will not be disappointed.
Overall rating:
I wish I could give the Cave Lion a better rating, its raw damage potental makes it a fun unit to play, but its lack of stamina for any drawn out fight just pulls it down to much.

Must not have for anyone who hates excessive carnage
