I personally think the Franklin needs some L-range guns, although with the Captain on it you could use Broadsides Attack to land five hits on a 1 or higher. A multiple action crew and/or someone who lets you move and shoot would also be a very good idea.

The +1 with Captain isn't valid with broadsides. No modifiers can be used with broadsides.
The only thing this ship lacks is an American 3pt same action twice crew member. Maybe with DJC.

This is quite an excellent ship - I would have thought any ship called the Franklin would be a 5 mast ship but this is a must have in an American fleet.

I give this review a 3. It is accurate and well written, but it lacks in content. In particular, I would like more ideas in the "strategies," "combos," and "how to counteract" sections. I'll place my vote later, as we are currently tied on the "Miniature of the Week" list, and it seems unfair for me to be the one to break the tie.

good review, I realy like that some people think that a review does not have to be long to be good. I like short reviews better mine is short.

It was a bit of a "vanilla" review for such an awesome ship - Commander Albert Crenshaw springs to mind immediately whenever I look at this ship(imagine a surpise attack with 4 L-range rank 1 cannons!! ). Still, it was very solid and compact, not a 5, by any means, though.
Maybe it's time for The Franklin to be re-reviewed, considering the crew and support ships the Americans have at their disposal now; and in view of this ruling: "If an ability refers to a “captain crew” it may be triggered by any crew with the Captain keyword, the text form of the captain ability, or the word “Captain” in its name or title."(Glad I checked before voting - feel free to fire away now, phymatine )

Commodore David Porter, Commander Albert Crenshaw, Pierce Hollow, and a helmsman.
