General description:
When you first look at this ship, you have to think, "Well this looks cool. BLack pirate Sloop. Red Jolly Roger. This ought to be a nice little treasure runner!" And when you look at its ability, it does! +2 gold when you drop treasure at your HI. Sounds great!

And then you look at the ship's stats, and you groan. A base movement of L, and ONE LOUSY STINKING CARGO SPACE???????? What gives? How could you ever use this ship? With a cost that is 2 more points more than the Banshee's Cry, this ship is a wste of 5 points.

Uses:
Put it in a diorama to display how pretty it is and throw away the deckplate so you aren't reminded how horrible this ship is.

Clearly it is designed as a treasure runner, so if you are desperate, you can use it for that, just make sure something else comes along to get the rest of the treasure, because unless the islands has 3 uts and a gold coin, there will be leftovers.

Strategies and game play:
How about don't use it.

Ok, should you use it, use to gather treasure plain and simple. either put a Helmsman on it and collect only UTs, or use Hidden Cove on it and Bamph to the island, take the gold, then begin the slow trek back to your HI.

Combos with other miniatures:
There's about 2 combos for this ship. One is to put a helmsman on it and take all UTs off an island, or let it be the victim of bad UTs. This strategy though effective, does not take advantage of its ability.

The other idea is to use Hidden Cove immediately. Collect some treasure on the island, and then make it back home. If you get attacked then honestly you're doomed. You don't have the defense or speed to to survive ANY attack.

Ways to counteract it:
Blow on it hard and its gone. Any ship with decent speed can overtake it and shoot it or even ram it. In fact just ram it, don't waste the gunpowder.

Strengths/Pros:
+2 treasure when dropped off at your home island
Its pretty

Weaknesses/Cons:
1 cargo
L base movement
1 mast
horrible cannon

Artwork and aesthetics:
This is the only part where this ship excels. it looks great and sinister, even though it is a wimp. 10 out of 10

Overall rating:
Overall: 2. I can not find a really good reason to use this ship, its utterly useless.

There is one good use I can think of for this ship. Have it keep station around your home island and then transfer a treasure coin to it to take advantage of the +2.

This theory has been discussed in a few forums, and this ship would do the job quite well.
