Thanks for the comments guys!

I wish I could use this fleet in a tournament, but there seems to be no Pirates tournaments out there within a 100 miles of here. The only reason I leave an empty cargo space on my HMS Grand Temple in because, what if I would board a ship or find a loose treasure out there, then I can put it on the HMS GT. I think I spent little on my flagship and having three treasure running ships is really helpful.

I don't think you are aloud more than one copy of a ship. So this fleet doesn't work with 2 cursed Native Canoes. I never thought about 20 Fire Shots before. Interesting, if only you had more cannons to shoot with them. I will give this fleet a 3, because of the two cursed canones and the lack of speed.

If only Samedi's Curse had another cargo space. With another cargo space you could put El Fantasma from SCS and have an excellent home raider with the Ghost Ship keyword. If only the Cursed had a cargo master. Otherwise this is a good review. Just would have been nicer with the subtitles.

What good use does an oarsman do on a ship that sinks when it loses its last mast? You would never get to use the oarsman ability. You could spend that one point on an equipment or event.

Nice fleet. But I still think you need some more fire power with all of the great cannons some of the American ships have. I also think that the Frontier needs a explorer for faster exploring, sometimes you just don't want to waste a turn exploring.

I would use this combo if I had these cards. This is what I am stuck with right now. Plus, the players that might come to my tournaments might not be so bright with this game yet. This is why I am not really changing this fleet that much.

In my tournaments you are aloud to play mixed fleets. It is better and easier to play with mixed fleets and a lot more fun. Is this the only reason you gave me a two? Please vote on strategy not because you don't like mixed fleets. A mixed fleet doesn't mean that the fleet is bad. Okay?

Another two! Wow, I didn't think this fleet was that bad. I put an explorer on my St. Joan to help her explore. What do I do with my last remaining point? Put an explorer on Marianne? Put an oarsman on Devil's Pay? Take the explorer off of St. Joan and put a Navigator on Marianne?

Please help me out!

I just checked my collection to see if I have an Barbary Coasair Explorer, but sadly I don't have one. So, now I am looking for a Explorer from the non-UL edition of this card.

I think it would be better also if you have a captain and helmsman separate on the grand temple if you have the cargo space to spare. It makes you less vulnerable to boarding parties.

Great thinking nealy. But what is wrong with putting an exploding shot on the Grand Temple instead of the fire shot? If I split Hermione Gold in two, then I will not be able to put the exploding shot on.

I think what your fleet really needs though is an explorer though. Explorers speed up goldrunning a lot. Not having them makes you take an extra turn to explore islands which often can mean the difference between escaping an oncoming gunship.

Thanks for the comment nealy. There are a couple of problems with the changes. El Algeciras only has one cargo space, so I can't put a captain on her. Another problem is that I don't own Contessa Anita Amore.

I rather keep the Devil's Pay to help out my Grinder. Grinder doesn't have much fire power with only three cannons. If I put an explorer on St. Joan and take the Helmsman off, that leaves me with one extra point for what? Favor of the Gods? I doubt that the players at the venue will use events.

Another thing I don't like what Wizkids did with Terrox is that she has no cargo space. If she did you could put equipment on her to make her a lot better and deadlier.

As to other vessels, I have no reservations...

If I want a firepot specialist, I would need to get rid of my Le Coeur du Lion, which is one of my goldrunners/helpers. I don't think there is much to change in this fleet.

This fleet looks pretty good on paper, but will it really work in battle? You can't do much damage with one cannon on each ship. Your best bet is to grab the gold. Your turtles are really safe when they can be hit 3 times to be derelict, but when you are derelict you can still move S. I think this fleet deserves a 5 for the good use of turtle ships. I say it should work in a 40 pt game.

The only problem in this fleet is that Franklin cannot shot at ships with the ability "ships can't shoot at this ship within S of her". But otherwise, I think this fleet deserves a 5.
