Fleet "Kraken's ahoy!"

After my most recent entry in the fleet challenge, and seeing Ben's Kraken gimmick fleet, I decided to build one of my own!

Warning, this fleet strays into potential cheese territory!

Here's how this works. Relying on valuable UT's is risky since there's always the chance of your opponent finding it first and using it against you. The way around that is to use one of those lovely Mysterious Islands that lets you bring in a UT, like this one. Durng set up and choosing home islands, try and place this island as close to your HI as possible, or try and get your HI as close to this island as possible so that the Darkhawk II can be Hidden Cov'd to it right from the get-go. Elizabeth Swann comes aboard to lend her re-rolling services to the Darkhawk, should you fail to roll a 5-6 on the island.

The First UT you bring in is Nemo's Plans which will be important for the second UT you bring in, after you've used Jimmy Legs to SAC the DHII's oarsman, Runes of Thor. This UT will allow you to force ANY die roll to a 6, no matter what die was rolled and for what ship.

Next you use the Black Heart's prolific speed to get to the same Island as the DHII, using her built in re-roll or the Runes to roll for the island, getting you the final UT, Kraken Gong! Don Pedro Gilbert will allow you to move away any bad UT's though you could use the island to swap them for the ones you want.

Once you've got the UT set-up, use the runes to roll for the Gong each turn, which should quickly get you all 5 krakens:

The Kraken
A Fearsome Creature

At a 40 point level, adding even ONE of those beasties will likely tip the game in your favor, just be aware that the global cancelling of The Kraken and Kray-Kin will affect your ships as well, although once they've been added into the game the Darkhawk and Black Heart's crew are gravy, needing only the helmsmen to get them around faster.

Nice standard fleet using the gimmick! I'm very impressed with how quickly it could all be set up (within a turn or two with good enough rolls to start).
