Fleet "Fog of War and Piracy" - 40 Points (extended format) show standard format
created by mercenary30

If played right, it is nearly impossible for your opponents to destroy your ships. Use this fleet if you find yourself playing against hunter fleets more often than not. Using the Smokepot on the Janissaries’ Blood to keep both of your ships protected make your boats nearly untouchable.

Start by using Hidden Cove to get the Winds of Vengeance out to get treasure and follow up with the JB heading out to intercept her on the return trip.

Choose Unique Treasures that will maximize your gold gathering opportunities. Run, Jade , Knights of Malta Banner, Ghostly Encounter, Spices. You should also use three 5 gold coins or a 4, 5, 6 combination.

Once per turn when this ship is given a shoot action, one of her cannons may shoot a firepot at a target within S of her. Declare which cannon will shoot the firepot before rolling the d6. If it hits, the target’s controller replaces one of her masts with a fire mast. At the beginning of every turn, roll a d6 for each fire mast. On a result of 6, remove the fire mast; on a 1–3, the ship’s controller replaces another of her masts with a fire mast. When a ship has only fire masts, she must be scuttled on her next turn. When a ship docks at her home island or a fort, remove all of her fire masts as a free action.

I love the Vengance as it is cheap and has the surviability of 3 masts plus oars. However, I have never been a big fan of Janissaire's Blood given its point cost. What would you think of either Tiger's Eye or Nubian Prince to give yourself the L or S immunity, respectively, and adding a musketeer?

I choose the Janissaries' Blood because of the reverse captain ability. It allows me to place my smoke, pummel any close opponents, and then hide. My initial fleet trying to use SmokePot Specialist did have the Nubian Prince and a second ship to toss the smoke. It didn't work out that great. I decided to have the gun ship do all it's own work, and have the second ship be a treasure runner.
