This is a fleet I devised a while back to gather treasure that has a nasty surprise for anyone foolish enough to come hunting. (The Titan made the mistake of wading into this fleet and was killed on the second turn of the game.) It is also very effective against ships with lots of crew.

The key is in the crew and cargo killing capabilities of the Royal James, Executioner and Panda. These three ships can decapitate a multi crewed ship and unlike Mermaids are not suceptible to Favor of the Gods. I have also found that it tends to derelict ships very close to my home island, making it very easy to add to my fleet in a multi-player game.

I divide the fleet into two groups. Group 1 is the Mermaid and Banshee's Cry. Group 2 has the Rover with the 3 gun ships. Each group has an explorer and cargo capacity. There are a dozen free cargo spaces in this fleet. Add the forts and some lucrative treasure and you are in business.

In a 50 point game I replace the captains of the Panda and Royal James with Blackheart and Havanna Black. I then add a helmsman and oarsman to both.

Very nice. You managed to get all 3 Crew killers in a pirat Fleet, as well as a few other ships to get treasure and or scout!

Ever think about getting a Hidden Cove thrown in?

Hidden cove would make a nice addition. I'll have to think about how I would use it. Probably restrict to the 50 point scenario. Thanks for the idea.

You could always sub it in for the Rover or the Mermaid. Just a thought. nice fleet!

I have a very similar fleet, but it does not have as many boats....I believe this one is more effective.
