This fleet boasts two gun ships, a run and gunner, and a treasure running ship. The only ship that should not do any exploring is the L’Orient.

The five points from Vicomte Jules de Cissey is not accounted for in the fleet plan, so you have full flexibility to choose appropriate events or crew to suit the game at hand.

If you use Hidden Cove (move boat to nearest wild island) to move to explore on turn one, the boat used should be L’Ange De La Mer. After exploring, leave the explorer there. L’Intrepide should be following in to get any leftover treasure and the Explorer.
Save the exposure and use of Captaine Arathiel until it is needed to ensure surprise, and don’t forget to build forts. If your opponents do the same, take them out with L’Orient.

Make sure that you don’t put any crew killing Unique Treasures in the game. Plague (eliminates crew), Missionary (eliminates crew) and things like that can really ruin your plans. I would suggest things like, Luddite's Revenge (add 1 to cannon ratings), Cross of Coronado (prevent the loss of one sail), Bad Maps (move ship and island L), Buried Treasure (boat looses a turn), and Rum (boat looses a turn).
