Hi, today we will make a healthy 40pts. fleet for Standard games (personally I prefer Deathmatch but whatever).

As a main fighter I chose SM Revenant. With CC Le Requin,
Captain, Helmsman and Exoding shot, it's just right ship for the job. For only 24 points, I get satisfying protection against opponents. It moves S+L, has two turns in one turn, has firepots... great deal!

I still have 15 points to go.
For 10pts I get SM Darkhawk II, I get him a helmsman for 2 pts, explorer for 1 point, and for 13 pts I have a nice goldship capable of defending itself if needed. Just make sure Revenant hunts down opponent's main fighter.

3 More points to go. 2 Ships to purchase (Sorry I don't have Banshee's Cry but you can use it here).

-Rover for 2points, S+L Speed, 2L cannon, This ships base move becomes S when she reaches her cargo limit. + Hag of Tortuga


For 40pts, you get a good gunship, good goldship and two ships which you can use either to help Revenant or to gather gold.

Still I have 6 more points to spend on some good stuff (Hag of Tortuga)+one left from normal 40..
For 3 points I buy Elizabeth Swann for Revenant's SAT crew, Le Requin,
And for those 3 more points I get a captain for darkhawk II.

Might I suggest using Exploding Shot rather than the Firepot on Revenant and using Lady Baptiste or Elizabeth Swan for a reroller for Le Requin's SAT. Eliminating Rover, you still have a point left for Jolly Mon. Add in the Hag of Tortuga or "Cannonball" Gallows and you have 5 more points to play with. If you can get it, Banshee's Cry is the best gold runner in the game. I'd use it with an explorer and add an explorer to the Dark Hawk II.

Without Banshee's Cry, I'd stick with the Rover, add the explorer to the DHII, and substitute the OE Crimson Angel for Le Requin. You get her world-hater ability for just 2 pts.

Well. I based this fleet on cards I have, but I see your point, this fleet isn't perfect. It really needs Hag of Tortuga and some reroller. Thank you for that informative comment. I'm gonna work on it.

I've always prefered the Revenant to the over-used Harbinger. Sure the Revenant is only 2 points cheaper, but those 2 points usually mean I can fit everything I need in.

One nitpick on your current fleet here... the Revenant has only 4 cargo spaces, and you've got 5 crew on her.

You can save yourself a cargo space, however, by using Hammersmith (F&S, Captain + Helmsman) or Griffin (OE, Captain + reroller).

Thanks! I'd go for Griffin as I don't have the Hammersmith. I quite like this fleet now.
