Fleet "Spanish inquisition" Help
Fleet "Spanish inquisition" - 45 Points (standard format) show extended format
created by phantasus

Hello everyone!

This is my second fleet and it's about the spanish inquisition. I chose this theme because I love the style of the ships and I think the Inquisitor deserves a chance to show his skills ;-)

La Catedral del Mar with the Inquisitor on board can hunt even the biggest enemy gunships:

While El Martillo de Dios is running treasures wait for the right moment to cove out your Catedral.
You can use Becalmed to get one more turn to get near enough to an enemy ship. Timing is very important because your ship has only three masts. If you managed to get your catedral near and alive to an enemy ship use Cursed Zone and ram it. You probably won't eliminate a mast but with Cursed Zone you can win the boarding roll and eliminate all crews. Without any Crews most gunships are useless and you can either try to sink it or you can hunt his treasure runners and use Divers.

I chose these ships because it's a theme fleet but to play this strategy more effective swap in the Santo Columba (with the super-boarding ability she fits perfect in this fleet because she can shoot at enemys before she boards) and of course the Monarca.

If you find mistakes or if you can help me to improve the fleet please left a comment.

I put together a 100-point fleet based around the four Inquisitor-linked ships from DJC. You might want to look it up under the name "Nobody Expects...". There's some analysis on how to load up each ship... Hmmm. I should go back to that fleet and update it with some of the newer (cheaper) Spanish crew.

As far as your fleet... it feels under-gunned and too heavy on events.

If you want to use the Inquisitor for boarding, more masts is always better, which is why I went with El Cristal del Obispo. Adding Castro's Loyalists (the cheapest +1 boarding crew in the game) also works well.

For La Catedral del Mar, all those rank 2 cannons were yelling "Broadsides" at me. Although to get the most out of that fear, adding a reroller (Almirante Miranda) might be nice... not sure if fear is really worth it, though.
