Fleet "Jack and the Doombox Fleet" Help
Fleet "Jack and the Doombox Fleet" - 45 Points (extended format) show standard format
created by captained

The original idea for this fleet was to abuse Jack Sparrow's "swap gold for crew" ability, but as it ended up, I couldn't get the points for JS and instead replaced him with the Rising Sun, which has the same ability.

Instead, I named all of the Oarsmen "Jack"...kind of like George Foreman's kids.

The plan is this: use a Home Island that has 2 peninsulas that are shorter than L apart. The DHII stays at your Home Island, while the Rising Sun (towing the Doombox) sails out to get gold. When it explores and loads gold, if the value is low, it can swap with another island with Don Pedro. Then, it can swap the gold for an Oarsman on the DHII. The DHII then moves from one peninsula to the other, and instantly unloads the gold. Plus, you get the bonus if it's a silver coin.

In play, the Rising Sun + Doombox is not very strong, so plan to move the the Wild Island furthest from your opponent, especially if your opponents gunships come after you. If needed, you can use Don Pedro to sacrifice and Oarsman to get an extra move.

You don't need to dock and then undock the DH II on a curved section of your home island (and you may have games where your opponent picks a HI for you without any indentations or peninsulas). You can use explore actions to unload gold to your home island...

UNLESS you switch your Silver Explorer with Genny Gallows (PotSM version), which specifies docking in her ability text. But you're much better off with Genny Gallows, who gives you a +2 every time, to the silver explorer, which at best is only going to work 25% to 50% of the time for +1 gold.
