Fleet "Stuffed Crabcake ver. 2.0" - 45 Points (standard format) show extended format

One of the significant advantages Titans have over the other sea monsters is they can carry crew. However, with the introduction of the Sea Creature rules in Rise of the Fiends, Titans now have a severe disadvantage: canceling the Titan keyword means they revert to a basic Sea Creature, and they must immediately dump all their crew.

However, I checked with Woelf, and there is one counter that Titans can use to prevent this from happening: carry your own canceler! So with that in mind, I thought I'd revisit my Stuffed Crabcake fleet and update it with some of the new crew now available.

My original build had Trevor Van Tyne (RotF) linked to Hermione Gold (who doesn't want another cannon that eliminates two masts?) and Vicomte Angelique de Richelieu linked to Lenoire, but I ran out of points. I thought of adding Commandante Antonio de Silva for a crew-killer ability, but decided SAC (Mercer or Jimmy Legs) was more important.

There is a much easier way to do this:

Raninoidea 21
Hammersmith (FaS) 5
Gentleman Jocard 3 (Instead of Dominic Freda)
Jimmy's Legs 3 (Instead of Mercer)
Tia Dalma 5 (Instead of Lenoir)
Oarsman 1

Using all Pirate crew lets you forgo Anamaria.

That leaves you an extra cargo hold and three points to play with. I'm thinking SM Calico Cat might fit the bill.

This is true. F&S wasn't out when I last updated this fleet, and I hadn't seen Hammersmith's abilities yet.

I liked Hermione Gold because of the link to the "actually useful" version of Trevor Van Tyne, but there wasn't enough points for him.

My only problem with all-pirate crew is it's still a bit thin on SAC fodder, and none of the crew above have any links to other crew. But with one cargo space open... hmmm. David "Bones" Wiley + Lucky the Parrot would work.

Without Dominic Freda, though, no free explorer, which I thought might be useful. Coconut = Explorer + Reroller, but no link to provide SAC fodder.

The build I came up with for Raninoidea is this:

Raninoidea 21
Captain Blackheart (SM) 5
Gentleman Jocard 3
Calico Cat 6 (OE)
Tia Dalma 5
Oarsman X 2

With the Hag of Tortuga on Jollymon and Favor of the Gods. This gives you a world-hater and another source for extra actions with 3 crew to SAC. No helmsman ability, but L+S+L+S guaranteed 3 times and a 1 in 3 chance of moving or shooting again each turn is worth giving up the extra speed. I didn't intend to do any exploring because I'd load up with really nasty UTs to slow down the opponent from gathering gold. It might be worth using OE Crimson Angel instead of Calico Cat in order to have Divers....
