Fleet "40 point Asian Pirates" Help
Fleet "40 point Asian Pirates" - 45 Points (extended format) show standard format
created by captain_arrr Premium Member

This fleet is something I want to try because I like the Hai Peng and the Rising Sun. Gives a South China seas look to the fleet.

The plan is simple. The Peng would speed over to a Wild island and pick up treasure, using Barbossa to defend itself there and back. The Rising Sun would do likewise, but when she explores the HI, she exchanges the highest gold with the Oarsman on the Ahura Mazda, wherein it will be unloaded onto my HI The Jolly Mon is just a vessel for the Hag.

I plan on bringing 3 five gold pieces and the rest as UTs shown below.

Any thoughts?

    Hi cap!
This fleet is really cool, and also funny to play, i think- but it won't won. We're seeing the same old fleets out there...Titan, San Cristobal, ecc, ecc. The same old friends. That's why i planned not to use HMS Titan anymore...but thatt's another history...
anyway, if you look for a cool gameplay, this fleet is really nice!
So, great fleet, maybe you'll win...i'd make those changes:

change: Barbossa away! it's 7 points for captain and +1 bonus.I'd put in: captain jack sparrow (6 points), that is together captain and provides a backup ability (the same as sea crane). And the last point, I'd use it for an additional Oarsman on your home island.

    ciao! Fede

I'm confused, how is Jack's ability the same as the Sea Crane?

I don't know, I think he means the Ahura Mazda ability is similar, but the Sea Crane is only +1 gold.

I'll second putting Capt. Jack Sparrow on the Hai Peng. The ability to exchange gold for oarsmen on the Ahura Mazda far outweighs anything Barbossa can do for you.

A valid point, but Barbossa is on the Hai Peng for more than offensive abilities. He's also linked to the hai Peng thus taking up for cargo, and he gives the Hai Peng an extra L movement. If I had the points, I would also throw in a helmsman!

If I were to use Captain Jack Sparrow, I would throw him on the Raven instead.

Captain Jack Sparrow would also be linked to the Hai Peng (he links to all Pirate ships), and he also counts for extra L movement.

Having both him and the Rising Sun in the same fleet, though, with only 1 oarsman... that is a bit redundant.

Well, if I added Sparrow, I would add an oarsman to the Mazda.

Yeah, Capt is right: Jack is only 6 points and thus provides 1 point for extra helmsman.
Also, he has the same ability as rising sun (swap crew for gold), so even if is eliminated, you still have another ship working.
p.s. i didn't mean sea crane, i meant rising sun. Fixed that!
    ciao! fede
