Strategies: Keep Grand Admiral Thrawn out of LOS. Mas Amedda makes his commander effects unlimited rather than only working to 6 squares - this does NOT include Ysalamiri however (not a Commander Effect!)
So you can place your Force users 7 squares away as 'guards', Nighsister can use Palpatine's Force points for more than 1 lightning (no dice = free damage!)
Use Thrawn's UNLIMITED RANGE placement swap to get your smaller guys in place for lightning and so forth....but ALSO, you can swap the ATST into the Rancor's position (ATST is Rigid, Rancor is not!).
Engine of the squad is Thrawn + Amedda, so play around with other combinations for 100 or 150 points, or using only small guys or whatever. Rancor and ATST together is just plain mean and showy, but hey, if you got it...flaunt it!
Remember Thrawn's +3/+3 affects ALL your non-Uniques, ATST and Rancor included. Keep Thrawnie and Amedda alive to ensure the effect stays unlimited by range.
Get sneaky and creative with the placement swaps - if a jedi comes up to the ATST, pop off shots and then use thrawn, swap the rancor in and drop a triple attack with him! Or you can bring your non-force users (occasionally your force users) into Thrawns protective Ysalamiri range of 6 squares. Just find a good place to keep the 'main engine' protected and anything else should be a quick fix...
OH YEAH! And the Master Tactitian from Thrawn lets you force your opponent to go first, though I'm not sure if this is intended to operate beyond the first initiative roll of the skirmish...
I haven't yet got my Aurra or Boba Fett or others to play around with more evil variants, but this one seems bad enough so far.
