General description:
Ursus is a standard RD design, in was design as second line mech, where durability is most important, on expense of weapons and speed. 55 ton gross weight did bring large laser, backed up by dual meduim pulse lasers and 10 lrm's luncher for greater ranges, this mech was design to fight long battles, with ammo and armor to spear.
Wizkids did make mech more organic, but keep it destinctive thorso-skull look, adding something to mech without touching it basic setup or look.

Uses:
Starting stats with pilot (2,1,1) are 10 move, 9 attack,21 heavy defense.
This is a medium mech, it's speed, long dial, relative cheapnes allow you to use it as second or support mech. Primery should have better attack.
It's great for flanking and with influx of medium gears, it's getting more and more diverse. Bring some support and play it aggressive or by using FP, SU gears prime it and use it as a mortal blow mech, doing +6 damage to wounded enemy. Be aware of it's ranges (0/10 energy on primery, 2/12 balistic on secondary), it's narrow front arc 135°

Strategies and game play:
Use it with battleforce of 2 or more mech, in 600 games you can put both of them ('ULL' and 'ODIN') backed by light repair mech (WH Anubis), use 3Ci on both of them to enhance attack rating and they will thear even 'Seka Pride' down. Another possibilty is using a heavy mech as primery and this one as secondary. I would advise use off SU Evade, 3Ci,IT,Harjel on this mech, don't let him fight without repair option. And remember Alpha strike is fun with Erikki ability ('BACK FROM THE BRINK After this unit shuts down because three radioactive symbols appear on its heat dial, roll one six-sided die. On a result of 3–6, this unit loses 2 heat (do not roll for any heat effects) and is not shutdown. Mark this unit so that it has one order token.').

Combos with other miniatures:
Try to enhance it's attack as described above or use units that can creck RHDM and let 'Odin' do the dirty work after. Using his prefferd pilot is mendatory.

Ways to counteract it:
Classic RD counter, ignor them or pound them to death. Any unit with Hardened armor will give great difficulty to this mech, since it's start damage is 2. However when you decide to attack it, do it swiftly and with force, killing it within one turn or you will have to deal with unpleasant Alpha strike.

Strengths/Pros:
Alpha gear with it's pilot ability is scary thing, it can Alpha strike all day long with some repair back up, stable defense (althought a bit low) and last 9 clicks free of repair marker.

Weaknesses/Cons:
Range, low start damage, RD paradigma (getting better at the end of dial, with low defense), low starting attack.

Artwork and aesthetics:
It's one of best looking classic remakes, seems to me that all the totem mech get a lot of attention by Wizkids designers.

Overall rating:
For a meduim mech, great 8/10
