The HMS Grand temple. Just the though of it gives me chills. This is by far the best 6-mast ship (counting point value), with the original grand temple in a close second. This ship is the most powerful of the very few powerful ships in oceans edge ( others include: USS Constitution, HMS Victoria, and maybe one more). Out of all the 6-mast Jade Rebellion ships that the English could have captured, it had to be then Grand Temple. I wonder how many ships it took to capture it. This ship is one of the best English ships, if not, then THE best English ship out there. I always think, what's next? The Zeus? Imagine that, the HMS Zeus .
Once you see this ship it screams gunship so much your eardrums might explode. With a pretty decent speed, decent cargo, and amazing guns, this ship is a role model for other gunships, and don't even get me started on the point cost. Although you would have to be a three-year-old not to use it as a gunship, this ship is also a good treasure runner. Even though it could fare as a treasure runner, trust me. USE IT AS A GUNSHIP!!!!
Strategies and game play:
Like I stated above, use it as a gunship. With this ship, you can tear the opponent apart, literally. Just sail right into enemy territory, then BOOM!!! You can also bring it near the enemy's home island. The enemy can't dock to unload or repair without getting a face full of cannonballs. Fast, speedy ships might make it through, but the enemy would fear this ship. I only got this one recently, but sense, used it in battle. Before I got it, my friend got it. We played a four-way game with my brother and a neighbor, and he used the HMS Grand Temple. It was one of the only ships not to lose any masts. Whenever a ship got near it, the ship ran away. I eventually won, but it was because I collected the most gold (I prefer destroying the enemy fleet, but when you're against the HMS Grand Temple, you don't have a lot of options). The only ship even close to being able to stop the HMS Grand Temple was one of mine, the HMS Apollo from F&S.
Combos with other miniatures:
The HMS Grand Temples ability makes it al the more powerful. Pirates have the best crew, so that with the HMS Grand Temple equals a hardcore killing machine. This ship has lots of cargo, so you can fit a lot of crew in there. I think there should be a link to this ship, but it is good by itself. This ship is good on it's own, but crew can't hurt. A captain would be perfect for this ship. Lord Thomas Gunn would be great instead of a captain, if you are not doing a high point game. Admiral James Norrington also is a good, high-cost crew for this ship.
The Gentleman would also fair well on this ship. A cannoneer also would do well. A helmsman would make the movement S+S+S. . The HMS Grand Temple doesn't need ships for support, this lumbering beast can support himself.
Ways to counteract it:
As all ships, a good way to defeat a ship would be to send a bunch of big ships and go all kamikaze on the ship. If you do that though, It could be hard, but not impossible to destroy the HMS Grand Temple. Every ship has a weakness, and you just got to find it. I have not found it out yet, but there is a way. One way I think is to use an ability canceler, or a ship that can take a beating ( like the Constitution from revolution.)
Pretty much almost everything a ship has.
( I can't think of anything else)
Artwork and aesthetics:
I like the artwork of the HMS Grand Temple, the blue makes it look new, reflective, and cool. 8/10
I would have to rate this ship a 9.99999/10.

If Pirate crew can turn this ship into a "hardcore killing machine", what are some that you suggest using?
They do have quite a few good crew out there, but they have a lot of lousy ones too, and some good ones that simply won't work on a gunship. Since you go on to list a few specific English crew, you should list some Pirates too (and not just the Pirate duplicates of the English ones listed).
Lord Thomas Gunn would be great instead of a captain, if you are not doing a high point game. Admiral James Norrington also is a good, high-cost crew for this ship.
What do those crew do and how do they benefit the ship?
Name-dropping should be avoided because if the reader isn't already familiar with those items it forces them to switch away from the review to look them up. Adding links to their gallery entries would be helpful, but even if you don't (or can't) you should still briefly explain what they do for the ship.
The three crew you listed are only very minor variations of each other (and two are functionally identical), so it would be good to list a few other (different) crew options as additional alternatives.
This ship has lots of cargo, so you can fit a lot of crew in there.
I think you're going to find that most players strongly disagree on this point.
Three spaces may be "lots of cargo" for a tiny little ship with one or two masts, but on a monster ship, especially a 6-mast, it's dreadfully small. Compare that to some of the other monster ships like HMS Titan, HMS Swallow, Harbinger, San Cristobal, etc. which all have at least five spaces. That may not seem like much more, but it makes a pretty big difference. Those three spaces are barely enough room to cover the most basic skeleton crew for a gunship (captain+helmsman), but leaves little room for anything else. On the other hand, with five (or even just four) spaces to work with you can start to consider adding all sorts of other useful named crew like cancelers, extra action generators, or offensive/defensive abilities to the ship, and even equipment becomes a possibility, any of which can make an already powerful ship that much better.
This review is the perfect counterpart to my Stinkpot Shot review, as this is exactly the kind of ship a Stinkpot Shot is needed for - just pull in front of it at L-range(out of range of her two S-range cannons), launch the stinkpot, and everything else your ship has, at it, and the essential captain of the Temple becomes useless for her next turn. The Temple is then reduced to the menial task of ramming and boarding instead of using its awesome firepower.
Thank you for all the feedback on the review. If you didn't write, I could make the same foolish mistakes I did on this one. For when Woelf pointed out that I said it had great cargo, I guess I was thinking about using it in battle, because as I also said that you don't need many crew, for the HMS Grand Temple is powerful enough, but crew won't hurt. I still would like to thank Woelf for pointing that out and the other things. I think I found the HMS Grand Temple's weakness. You need a big (just in case of ram) ship with long-range cannons with a captain. The thing is, the ship has to be able to pick the mast eliminated from am enemy ship. Or you can use a ship like the Gold Eagle because it can come in and shoot (with a captain), and then use it's ability to sail away. Anyway, Once you get a ship like that, here is what you got to do. Go right in front of the HMS Grand Temple and fire with a captain. The HMS Grand Temple's front guns are it's weakness. With white 3's, You can shoot, choose a red two to be eliminated. The GT can't fire back, but it can ram. That's why you need a lot of masts, or a ship like the Gold Eagle. Thanks again everyone for the good ratings.

There is no doubt that the HMS GT is a beast - it is one of the reasons that the OE set is a must buy set.
Another thing to consider about this big 6 mast is that it has only 2 short range cannons that are very average. Any ship with the ability 'L range cannons cannot hit this ship' can pull up behind it and blast away without worry.
"This ship is the most powerful of the very few powerful ships in oceans edge ( others include: USS Constitution, HMS Victoria, and maybe one more). "
The 'one more' you are referring to is the other 6 mast from OE - the Divine Dragon from OE (Cursed)- not great cannons but for a Cursed faction ship it is well above average.
