General description:
The Black Swan is a big, evil-looking ship that can be enhanced in a multitude of ways.

Uses:
It has "gunship" written all over it, but the Crew you put on could make other uses appropriate.

Strategies and game play:
There are countless strategies for the Black Swan because of its customizability.

Combos with other miniatures:
There are WAAYYYY too many Crew combinations for the Black Swan because it can use any and all of them. The only definite one (for me at least) would be Commander Albert Crenshaw. Unfortunately, due to all the beefing up you can, and probably will, do with Crew makes it a prime target for Mermaids.

Ways to counteract it:
Sinking it, and most likely Mermaids as well.

Strengths/Pros:
-Fairly good cannons
-Can use ANY crew

Weaknesses/Cons:
-All S-range guns
-Almost definetly Mermaid bait

Artwork and aesthetics:
Dark and evil. My favorite.

Overall rating:
I give the Black Swan an 8/10. I think it needs more cargo space and maybe a wee bit faster.

A good crew combo for Black Swan is:

- Admiral Morgan (5)
- Calico Cat (3)
- Helmsman (2)
- Captain (3)

Two chances at extra actions is a good thing!

Add on Madame LaFontaine (or similar crew) and you get a reroll on one of the extra action crew's that kapnkrunch gave. Increased odds never hurt!

You can't put Madame LaFontaine on the Black Swan, unfortunately. WizKids has ruled that crew that cost zero points cannot go on off-nationality ships.

A good ship for those starting out as it can make the best use of what ever crew you have.

Since this has been dragged back up...


If there are "countless strategies" and "WAAYYY too many Crew combinations" for this ship, it would have been helpful to at least tells us about a few of them.

The one combo that was actually mentioned isn't even a very good one, but the only way anyone unfamiliar with Crenshaw would even know that is to look him up on their own because it's never explained what he actually does for this ship.
