General description:
Johnny Quick, the Crime Syndicate counterpart to the Flash. A Unique from the stellar DC Origin set. Aside from the nice sculpt this character boasts, he also sports a nifty dial, one that has gotten a whole lot of play, and rightfully so. Let's take a look.
Uses:
Let's look at stats:
Speed: 10, 10, 4, 10, 10, 9, 8, 7. HSS speed on 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th. Charge on 4th. Flurry on 7th and 8th.
Attack: 9, 9, 7, 9, 10, 10, 9, 8. BCF on 4th.
Defense: 16, 16, 15, 16, 17, 16, 15, 14. ES/D on 1st, 2nd. SS on 4th and 5th. Combat Reflexes on 6th, 7th, and 8th.
Damage: 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 2.
He is a VERY cheap secondary attacker, sporting some good damage with some nice speed values, plus the defense values work very well. You'll need ES/D with HSS, as you'll probably keep your distance. But when you gain Flurry, you'll want Combat Reflexes, as you'll be up close. With no "bad" click other than his third (which represents him having to shoot up on drugs to give him his speed), he is very cheap, yet very effective.
Strategies and game play:
As I stated before, the defenses work well with his speed, so he should be relatively safe no matter where you put him. Make him an upfront piece in small-point games, but a tie-up/secondary attacker in larger point games.
Combos with other miniatures:
He is a very useful fig, so many different figures would work well, as would maybe a 'lamp' team that you can team him up with to distract your opponent. But he fits well with any team.
Ways to counteract it:
While he isn't a tank, or a damage-crazy piece, he can do damage, and a decent amount, so expect him to be attacking often. One way I've found is to counter him with longer Hypersonic, so as to hit him early, and eliminate him quickly.
Strengths/Pros:
Good damage
Defenses work well
Never a truly bad click (except 3)
Cheap, but effective
Weaknesses/Cons:
No damage reduction
Kinda short dial
AV pretty low
DV can get pretty low
Artwork and aesthetics:
Nice sculpt, similar to other Flashes before. The
fire/speed/whatever at his feet is nice.
Overall rating:
A nice, nice piece, and one to be kept. I give him a 8.5 out of 10.
