General description:
Lady Baptiste is a crew member that lets you play the odds better by allowing you to re-roll an unfavourable die result.

Uses:
Lady Baptiste is good on any ship to assist your cannon and boarding rolls but she's particularly useful on ships that have abilities requiring a successful die roll. She can also save your bacon when it comes to fire sails.

Strategies and game play:
Lady Baptiste works great on both gold runners and gunships. Practically every ship in the game needs to make a die-roll at some point so having Lady Baptiste on-board makes it more likely you'll get the roll you want.

Combos with other miniatures:
I've found that Baptiste works best with crew like Jean Laffite (roll a die; any ship in your fleet gets an extra action on a 6) and Calico Cat (roll a die; a result of 5-6 gives this ship the same action twice). I watch statistics a lot... Having Lady Baptiste aboard a ship with Jean Laffite almost doubles your chances of rolling a 6 (30.6% vs. 16.7%). When using Calico Cat and Lady Baptiste together your odds of getting the same action twice go from 33.3% to 55.6%!

Ways to counteract it:
Nemesio Diaz, Monsieur Le Noir, etc.

Strengths/Pros:
She gets fate on your side.

Weaknesses/Cons:
Unfortunately, according to the rules, Lady Baptiste's ability can't be used to re-attempt a failed Broadsides Attack.

Artwork and aesthetics:
Bald chicks rule.

Overall rating:
I give Lady Baptiste a score of 7 out of 10. She's extremely versatile but needs to be paired up with other crew/abilities to be more than moderately effective.
